Employees have been picketing since Wednesday calling for their wages to keep up with inflation.

We want a livable wage.

You want to pick up some groceries at your own grocery store, but we can’t even afford to do that.

I can’t afford to live in my own city. I can’t afford to shop in my own store.

Profits are a bigger share of our economy than at any point in our history in Canada. The economy cannot sustain itself when the people who are earning the paycheques can’t afford to live and all of the money is going to the top.

They’re lying. They’re lying when they say you don’t deserve the money that you make. You deserve every goddamn penny that you make and we shall never apologize.
